More simple install...AA Xede or Procede?

Since I never worked under the hood of any car and I'm considering Xede or Procede...
I was wondering which product is easier to install?

I did not install a Xede, so I can't comment, but the Procede install is not difficult, especially after the first time. You can download the install video from vishnutuning.com and judge for yourself. Since the original install, i have removed and reinstalled with no problem. Like many others, I have also plugged my notebook computer into the Procede (which is very easy to do) to install later edition maps, which is something you cannot do with the Xede from what I understand (and if I am incorrect I apologize in advance).

Install and wiring is easy, assuming you can count to 30....

The hard part is taking off the filter try and ECU cover...so many damn bolts to hold it together...why can't they just use clips...be so much easier

It depends on how comfortable you are in doing electrical work. For some people it took them about an hour.

I really want to chip or install a piggyback in the future, but afraid of warranty issues. Also rumor of a Dinan chip. Both devices so far are noticable by dealer and seems not to hard to install or remove but still takes time

If you're worried about warranty then don't buy anything. Dinan voids the factory warranty so I don't recommend that either.

I recommend getting the Turbo Tuner. It's a simple plug and play device. If you have to bring your 335i to the service center just remove the Turbo Tuner, drive for a few cycles, and drive it in.

You can do the same thing with the Xede and PROcede but you're going to have to remove the unit and wiring before bringing it in for engine related warranty issues.

Dinan doesn't void warranty i've heard from some folks. Dealerships say as long as its Dinan and they insall it and see its all ok, its warranted...

No, that's actually not true. I used to think the same thing. It's a warranty "matching" program that Dinan offers. If it is determined that something happens to your car that's covered by warranty and can be directly related to a Dinan part, then Dinan will match the BMW warranty and fix whatever is wrong. But from what I understand, sometimes it can be quite a battle. I'm sure it doesn't happen very often however. I actually asked Steve Dinan about this at TechFest in Tacom, WA a few months back, and he confirmed what I just said. Nobody in the room really knew this.

Thats what I started reading up, but I also found that dealers are more forgiving if they do installed it and if it is Dinan vs another company. The dealer by me is all about high end cars, they sell exotics etc besides BMW. So they would do it. I'm just looking for an exhaust from Dinan sometime, than a simple chip (as you guys say Turbo tuner) and easy to take out if I need to hide it. Than who knows what in time but nothing drastic that would truly cause issues.

I've already dealt with a highly modded car. I couldn't drive my WRX anymore, a race car is no daily driver lol.

..or wait for the BMW factory ECU reflash which is rumored to be available in July. It is a REFLASH, not a PIGGYBACK SYSTEM.

Just wanted to let you know, that I also talked to two guys from Dinan's sales department who were working the display booth at TechFest, and I asked them what's first for the 335, and they told me they will be addressing the "engine temp" issue first, in the form of an intercooler. One guy said "what good does it do to increase performance when the engine overheats". I kid you not, that's what he said. Maybe somethings changed since then (March), but they didn't seem to be in any kind of a hurry to come out with performance (power gain) enhancements.

What a lame excuse. My guess is that Dinan will either be out of business or will be moving on to another car brand by the end of the year. It would seem as if they're 1 out away from being out of the BMW ballgame.

I thought I saw somewhere on another thread that BMW was seperating themselves from Dinan here pretty quick. I guess that means they won't have a Dinan guy in the parts department at the dealerships anymore?

Or at least a guy who used to be Dinan...
