FOB Replacement

So during my vacation, my FOB got soaked with water. I did get it to dry, but today it seems my key is acting up. My car is just over a year old, I am just wondering if they will replace my FOB "under warranty" I know water damage is never covered in any electronics but just wondering if BMW will make a big deal out of it.

what water damage. Just tell BMW it stopped working and won't charge.
If it doesn't work after a bit more drying time that it.

Thats what I am thinking of telling them but I just wonder if they will dig into the FOB deeper such as opening it and found out there was a water damage or corrosion. But then again worst thing they can say is no...

in general which applies to all electronics taking the battery out prevents shortage and provide higher chances for recovery.

Try sticking it in rice for a day or two. Apparently this works for absorbing moisture in electronics that have water damage.
