ive seen pics of them on the coupes... they look nice but I cant decide if i want to do them or not. I need to see night time pics and see how visible the lights are when braking etc...

I purchased clear Lamin-X from **********s for the headlights, and love it! I'm not sure how the taillight's film is, but if it's anything lke the one for headlights, it's extremely thick and durable (unlike the tint for windows).
The clear headlight film actually makes the headlight look a bit more shiny. |

I got the clear ones. I would not go with smoked in the front. Either clear or yellow. And the ones I got were thick enough to be table mats. Those things are easy to medium difficulty to apply. They are adhesive, and you use distilled water on the cleaned headlight surface to apply these. It's a challenge to stretch them out and get all the air bubbles out, but once applied, you can remove them and reapply. I used Latex gloves to apply these (don't want your fingerprints stuck on the adhesive side), and a good squeggie (spelling?). The hard plastic tool that comes with it is too hard and small. I went to Pep Boys and got a bigger and more pliable one.

I plan on getting the smoked ones soon. I had these on another car and LOVED it....adds more contrast to a white car(not to mention it makes the front lenses NEARLY chip, crack proof) ...AND makes a dark car look SICK.
The only hang up I have about doing these is that the former car was a minor P.I.T.A to get the film "plum" ...and it was a FLAT cover....the 335i e92 is curved so...I can only imagine what a ROYAL pain this will be . Now I just need to find a set of factory rims that I can get powder coated black and I will have the contrasting b&w look I love so much.

Thats a sick picture. Nice work on your bucket. So no on the smoked headlights? I thought it might be subtle on a darked out space grey 335i. Dont like?

Yes, it makes them look a little bit glossy. Hard to describe it. Guess you just have to see it in person. I got them simply because I wanted to protect those expensive Euro Xenons, but was surprised at how much they glossed up the plastic.

This is personal preference. If I had to go with any color, I'd go with the yellow (DOT approved). I've seen a lot of E46 rides with this and like it.

I just put the lightly tinted ones on today very thick and not easy to put, imo, after about 6 hours i pulled them back off no bubbles but foggy looking. wasnt happy. The gloves are a good idea because you dont want to leave any finger prints thats for sure.

Pictures? Of the process and results? I'd love to see the smoked result. Thanks!
