pwm w/ 7-11 maps adjustment question..
vishnu pwm meth install was just completed. 7-11 maps uploaded, car starts up, idles great etc etc. no boost leaks, or leaks of any sorts. upon the initial drive, after warm up i was only hitting 13.5psi with meth lights active. my user adjustment parameters for map 4 were set as instructed on install. ignition correct 0, meth mode 1, injection 20, max boost 18, and set the start boost to 75% (17.5psi), and am fueled on 93 octane and M1, distilled water mixture of about 70/30. i was only hitting 13.5psi for quite a few pulls.., a few pulls later i was beginning to hit 15psi, and it continued to gradually rise after about 30 minutes until i hit 17.5psi. did several runs after this and the soonest the car will hit 17.5 psi is in 4th gear. in 4th and through 5th it hits 17.5 well but wont boost past like 13.5 in 2nd and like 15psi in 3rd gear. we did reset the procede as well, so is my car adjusting slowly and adapting? I am gradually gaining the power i should have but it takes time to make it when WOT. more time that it should.. Is this normal to have the car increasing power like that at the moment? i have not heard of this occurring so i must ask.

probably important to mention, we installed forge DV's in meantime and this may be the culprit to issues with boosting to low in 1-3rd gear and suddenly makin 18 almost more in 4th-5th. is the boost pressure building up and suddenly builds too much and i then overboost in 4th? my dv's came with 2 green springs, one yellow, and one no color. brand new. sooo ill reinstall stock bypass valves and report back.

That's a good idea to revert to stock bypass valves and see what happens.
The forge units should use the yellow springs. You should crack them open and see what colour the springs are inside. If they are green, the you will bleed off boost too soon as those springs are too weak to hold tuned boost levels. Odd that you say you only have one yellow spring......there should be two. Maybe the other one is already in one of the diverter valves??? If so you could have mismatched springs in the forge units which would explain your funny boost behaviour. |

yes sir we checked before install. green springs are in yup. so hopefully this solves it. bc it wouldnt make sense for properly uodated 7-11 maps to cause haywire characteristics like this

Yellow springs and its common to see more boost in 4th gear. If you are overboosting you could set your delay higher or your gain a touch lower. I recommend the former as the latter will cause boost not to ramp up as quickly.

lol no no, if u saw a 0-60 of my dash showing boost etc youd say nevermind. i hit 10-12 tops in 3rd gear, and then i hit 18 into 4th. and the boost comes on horribly slow. kulu and i did a highway pull, identical mods practically. his map 1 (no meth, 13.5 psi), kept him right next to me on my meth map (17.5 psi etc). on our map4 vs map4 run, it was awful lol. i had no torque until 4th gear he pulled a car length per second until i got into 4th.

put the stock bypass valves back on. car is boosting properly now. so i guess running the green springs at high boost levels can make that much of a choke back boost like that? wasnt aware and find it odd but, i guess until i get the yellow springs the stock dv's will do. i also didnt have the shims in with the green springs, could that have mattered?

What will happen, If we switch to map 2 ?
Because pwm meth users changes map2 options to %75.. ign. correction etc.. If we switch to map 2 (non-meth drive) instead of map 4, all of the map2 options (max boost etc.) will be for meth, right? |

Shiv told me over the phone "dont use map 2". for now if you are running low on the methanol, switch over to map 1 before we clarify this further.
