I haven't seen this discussed of recent, but I remember early on Shiv mentioning that with the ability to upgrade maps on your procede -there would be some sort of subscription fee in which you pay for in some interval throughout the year. Curious, are people paying for their map upgrades? or is this all on the house thus far?

WHAT?!?!?
So let me get this straight, you have to pay $1300, wait a few months to get your product, THEN have them change the deal after the fact? There was no mention of a "subscription" to get new maps. There have been a number of posts indicating that new maps will be free. If Shiv changes and tries to make people pay for the new maps there are going to be a LOT of pissed off people.

First of all, there is absolutely so subscription fee or fee of any kind for the new maps. Secondly, I do not blame him if he does charge a minor fee for more enhanced quality maps. Everybody needs to eat!!!!

Subscription fees to get more improved maps that will enhance the performance of your car further do not exactly sound unreasonable depending on the cost.

Well, Shiv has said that PROcede v2.0 will be free to all those who already have the PROcede; maybe firmware updates after that would require an additional nominal cost.

I agree... I come from a software consulting background, and the general rule is upgrades after the dot in vX.X usually is free. Major version upgrades always incur costs, and Vishnu is more than generous with how they are taking care of their current loyal customers.

Hi guys,
We had a little problem with updating software through the Radio Shack USB converter (that most people are using). So I just sent one off to our software engineer to get the bug fixed. No problem doing it through a standard serial port though. Once we get the fix, we'll start sending out updates to our beta folks shiv |

Hi Mat,
There isn't a problem with updating maps with various USB converts. But there is a pretty strict form of error detection that we employ when updating firmware that is triggered with a few USB converts that we've tried. So that's what we're addressing right now. shiv |
