Oil light came on...

My oil light came on before after i got home and turned off the car... does anyone know how much oil i need to put? Please advise. I was told 5 quarts?? that seems a lot.... is there anyway to check??? I dk if these cars have dip stick? I know my oil benz didn't. Thanks

yea man just put a qt in NOT 5 lol. he prob just thought you wanted to kno the total amount to put in....just pick up some synthetic and top it off, this is common

just add a quart... if your still under warranty just go to the dealer and tell them to top it off

rather then making a new thread I thought i'd just ask here

what kind of oil do I need? I need to add 1 quart? don't want to go to dealer either

Castrol Syntec 0W-30 ???
Mobil 1 0W-40 ????

for a 07 335i

Any LL-01 oil will do..it depends on how low you are..start with a quart and see what you oil gauge reads.

Castrol has to be the European spec Castrol..Here is a comprehesive list..all of this is available if you search on the forum..there are several oil stickies..remember to read the back of the bottle for the Long Life -01 rating

funny thing is im due for an oil change but hassel wont do it unless i need it..so i check this morning to check the oil level..it display +1 oil level is low..
