N51 E90 Engine 3stage intake manifold tune?

Hi there guys, so ive been informed that the N51 motor has a 3stage intake manifold for the e90 328i, due to the fact that I live in California.

Seeing as the 330i has more horsepower with the same engine, and has the same intake manifold, is it possible to do a simple tune to get the 328i up to the 330i horsepower ratings?

I'm terribly sorry if this has already been addressed, i attempted searching before asking but was unable to find any conclusive answers, i appreciate any help you can offer!

think there was some discussion on it - reason theres no conclusive answers could be because its as of yet untested or thoroughly confirmed

Hmm

I would imagine that this would be a popular way to add 20 hp. If the engines are basically the same with a slightly different compression ratio, it should be relatively possible. It's sad that the 328 gets such flack and is ignored.

It is an easy way, but most people dont want to spend $500-1000 for parts and an ECU flash.

I think the compression ratios are different. 10:1 on the n51 vs 10:7:1 n52. The n51 has the 3 stage manifold to compensate for the lower compression ratio.

So due to the compression ratio being different, its impossible to get the horsepower frmom an n51 most get when doing the manifold swap and a tune in the n52?
