Canceling orders?
I put in my order maybe two weeks ago. I received my production number, and I know it won't be a while until it starts, and on top of that it will be another couple months before it finishes probably.
I paid a deposit- nothing else. Can I cancel my order? I do not wan't to wait. I just need a car now. What are my options at this point? 2 months is too long.

Of course you can cancel your order--you have not signed any papers, right? I placed a $2K deposit on my car and I damn right made sure it was refundable if I cancelled my order. I will not sign any papers till I inspect the car and make sure things are kosher.
good luck p.s. It's worth the wait...I have been waiting since early June and I will have another 5-6 weeks ![]() |

Sigh... I am almost debating whether or not I want to find something else. I know its going to be an amazing car. The MSRP totaled out to be more than the 2011 S4 Prestige.
I just hope it comes soon... Either that, or I hope I forget about it and receive an unexpecting call that I have a car at the dealership.

You can cancel your order. I just learned that here in California it is against the law to keep your deposit if you want it back. Essentially here in CA there is no such thing as a non-refundable deposit.
I was willing to wait 8 weeks. But considering I feel "lied to" about the plant being shutdown in August, I am not willing to wait 10 or 11 or 12 weeks. F that.

Ya I feel your pain man...trust me. I was also looking at a S4 but I was able to get an amazing steal on my car (specs in sig), paid well under invoice...so I guess the wait is a way for the dealer to torture me

The "choke" points where things slow down is: car has to wait to be shipped to the port in Bremerhaven then in Bremerhaven it has to wait for a boat then the boat ride then it sits at customs in US waiting to be dealt with, could take 1 or 2 days could take a week. then VPC, to make sure that the car is all good, they cut your bumber and install orange reflectors then it is transported to your dealer.

328 is the most common/popular BMW sold. If your dealer doesnt have one you like you can ask him to do a dealer swap for a car at a different dealer. *edit, never mind I see you ordered a 335, but nonetheless, you could ask your CA to do a search

Unfortunately, I think you hit it during August when the plant shuts down. That adds another month to the wait. As mentioned above, you can cancel the order (you haven't actually purchased the car yet) and walk away. But the wait will be so worth it.

![]() But I can't really fault the guy for wanting his new toy (or maybe just needing a car).

![]() If you're like the OP (or me), and are really specific on what options you want, there really is no other way to do it other than wait..and wait..and wait. But it is well worth the wait to get what you want. ![]()

Who knew dealers don't order 335d m-sports with stupid paddle shifters! Dealers, order the sports paddle shifters with m-Sport. Duh. $100 option killed your deal. I want my Oompa Loompa paddle shiftlers!
