HELP!! engine malfunction during DCI install
EDIT** Can anyone point out where is the intake pressure sensor located? i dont want to spend couple hundred to tow the car to shop and let them inspect and found out just the sensor got disconnect. thanks
i was just start to install the DCI and only pull the battery rail forward and trying to squeeze the hose from the airbox. spend 20 minutes squeezing the hose cap and cant get it loose, so i gave up and reinstall the batt rail and push in the hose. when i start the car, it has very long crank and the engine wont start up. i know this seems to be unrelated cause i dont think i did anything wrong or un-normal besides the hose cap, the car was running fine last night. Possibly your intake pressure sensor got disconnected- it's in the charge pipe right below the airbox. Should set an SES, can cause ling crank times....

Honestly that's why people should just pay a pro to get it done right..as for our issue check the sensors to see if anything got disconnected ,and make sure the tubes are on secure and tight !

What are your other modifications? Do you have a tune? If so, which one?

You didn't open up the ecu box for anything did you? Is it possible your power connection to the procede worked it's way loose? One of the symptoms of hooking up the procede power to the wrong spots in the green power box is that the car will turn over and not start.
Might be worth checking it if you are comfortable with doing it, and you are they one who put it in. |

Read this. Don't worry that there is mention of Rev1 procede, the power issue it the same over all rev's (rev 1, 2, or 3 hardware). http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ighlight=power

Do you know someone with a bavtec cable that can pull codes for you?
Another possibility is the fuel pump (checking for codes would help determine). |

i did have some minor issues with the power connection with the procede, the pin of the original cable is a bit bend cause i push the procede cable in but it seems to connect just fine and with several layer of electric tape. i also plug in the correct slot. my procede was installed a month ago with no problem.
i didnt touch the ecu at all. all i did yesterday was pull the batt rail forward and try to disconnect the tube of the hose in front of the airbox. the problem is that i dont start the car before i try to install the DCI and after i wanna take a break after can't getting the tube to loose, the car wont start. so i dont whether the problem is related to what i did during install or other problem. thanks for all advice, will try to check the ECU and continues the DCI install and see whats wrong under the airbox. |

Follow your charge pipe the first bump on the side or bottom that is after your rear dv is the sensor you will also feel wires connected to it. Its close to the throttle body look up jb+ install or sstt install it will show you.

the DCI is a very simple install i highly doubt you hit the sensor as you say you didnt even remove the air box and it sits bellow the air box behind the diverter valves.
could be a fuel pump issue, have your mechanic pull the codes. |
