You should just google the api.dll file and download it and place it in it's respective directory.
Probably in system 32 folder. |

I used VMware workstation (could probably use any major virtual machine software, a good free one is Virtual Box although I haven't tested it in the situation) Windows 7 Ulitmate 32bit iso (about 4.5 GB), although really any 32 bit version of Windows 7 should work fine. That's all you really need, no need to burn or artificially mount it as VMware and pretty much any other virtual machine out there can read the iso right from your HD. VMware won't seem to recognize the cable until you actually plug it in to the ODBII port, at which point you can attach it to the virtual machine. I also installed the cable drivers from here ahead of time: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm This is important if you won't be able to get a wifi connection from your vehicle. Also make sure in Device Manager, that the Serial Connector is set to COM1. If you have something set on COM1 move it first to an open COM port and then move the Serial Connector to COM1. Follow the directions as posted in the Coding Success thread. Enjoy. Last edited by rage; 08-30-2011 at 07:27 PM.. |
