It is my personal opinion that you should do tune, intercooler, exhaust (including downpipes) and then meth but people will always have different opinions.
There may be many running high levels of boost w no DPs but there is no way to conclude that they will not hurt turbo longevity..in fact turbos hate all restriction..the lower the back pressure..the easier the turbos will function and more power they will make.

Agreed 100%, I don't believe this is debatable.

I don't know about 18psi but I'm running 16.5 psi with just tune, meth and an intake. I am going to do some logs with teh stock dps and then install my catless dps (sitting in the garage for the last 6 months) and do some logs to see if the catless dps make any difference. My guess is that they do very little based on my 4 year experience with them both on and off my 2 335's.

I currently run a Intake/Tune/Methanol setup. Ive ran a maximum of 18 PSI but usually daily at 17 PSI. This setup currently will put you at 400WHP. Or 50-60WHP over a tune intake setup.

I'm missing about 30-40WHP because I dont have aftermarket DP's and FMIC.

Its also not good for the stock catalytic converters for a long period of time with this setup.

And the turbos themselves..bottle neck effect causing strain on the turbos

Potentially, although these turbo's fail on stock vehicles anyway. I would call it the luck of the draw for anyone.

Agreed ...but why accelerate the wear purposefully?..the only downfall to catless DPs is the emissions and inspection issues

You want top end power? Take your wife to a plastic surgeon and ask for a set of D cups...

I can return this car back to stock in less then an hour and be in the dealer for warranty work seamlessly. So to me its not really a big deal. To others it might not be as easy depending on your relationship with your dealer and who you know. Truth is I've running 2.5 years strong. No wastegate rattle. Holds boost fine. I pull on cars I shouldnt be pulling on.

Right now I'm watching my town and street under water on the news so to my Turbo's are last on my list of worries.

Bimmers are awesome especially the 335i. Nice speed very nice luxury inside. I love American muscle but I'm OV the plastic interior!

Stock turbos are not for top end power. Upgrade them first.

Top end is not the issue, you need an LSD.. downpipes do help unleash more hp tho and your turbos will thank you..
