CD changer Fiber Optic Cable - No light present

I can't see a light coming from the most connector, in the trunk, for the CD changer. Is this normal?

My understanding is this is just a fiber optic connector and a light should be visible when the ignition is on.

I want to use that connector for the dension gateway 500.

Thanks.

You don't see a light because that connection is disabled. Unless you had the CD changer installed and running, the MOST connection to it is not hooked up at the level of the MOST junction box behind the left rear back rest. Search the forum for the DIYs for Sirius retrofits, etc. There it will tell you how to enable it.

I had the DIY for the cd changer retrofit and it made no mention of the junciton box. All they did was hook up the changer and code it.

I'll take a look at the junction box tomorrow.

Thanks.

So where is the junction box behind the rear seats? I removed the cover of the hidden pocket and found several unconnected wires (see picture). Is this where the junction box should be connected? If so, why isn't one here (what option is missing)?

Thanks.

EDIT:: Looks like I was mistaken as to the location, actually underneath the driver-side rear backrest ( http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=changer ). I'll keep hunting, but since I don't have fold down rear seats it may take a while.

The wires you show in that pic ^^^^^^^^^ are for the Satellite Radio hookup, not the CD Changer...

Haha, that's a good idea, I wonder if it would fit. I've been looking at starting that process with this car (JBL MS-8, etc).

I've been trying to figure out what the black piece is. No luck so far.

Found it! It appears to be the connection / bracket for one of the comfort access antennas.

since you are in the trunk anyway
the measurements of the ms-8 are 11-1/2" x 7-3/8" x 2-1/8"

There are some rough estimates (right side in the pictures, left may be different), so no, not going to fit. I'm pretty sure that BSW gets a rockford fosgate amplifier in one side (for their 3-series sub package). So you might be able to work something out.

Nice pic / signature. Did you see the Senna doc released this year?

Except that's 2" high
