Brake service light
Hi everyone,
Let's all laugh at my stupidity question time lol. This morn I was messing about with the car n went into the service menu reset options (holding odometer) n scrolled through n cam to brakes that need done in 2,000 miles so I reset just outta curiosity to see what mileage it went to. I'm stuck now with the red brake light on dash, red car on ramp sign at startup plus now when I scroll through the normal service intervals menu it's just displaying ----- miles at the brakes option? So who can help me to fix my mistake lol. |

Sounds like you tried to reset it with the sensor being worn, so short of fitting a new sensor or soldering the old one, I don't think you'll be able to reset this.
The front sensor is pretty easy to fit (front left), and you can just hang it up with a zip tie in the engine bay until you actually replace the brake pads to avoid having to buy another sensor in 2 months time. The rear one is a little bit more tricky and it's hidden under the right rear wheel arc liner. I suggest that you buy a new sensor and fit that. After that you'll be able to reset it as you tried with the odometer method. You can see the sensor location in the links below: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=473763 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...66&postcount=6 |
