Installing an amplifier in 2011 E90
Hey guys,
I just bought a JL audio sub and amplifier and plan on doing the install myself if i can get a diagram of the speaker wires to install the LOC. I've found some threads and DIY for other cars but i cant tell if the wires are the same for my car. Does anyone know of a wiring diagram or anything that can help me out for a 2011 E90 with idrive and the regular sound system? Thanks Alot! |

For 2011 there were three different system in the US
The ampless base system 6 speakers no amp head power only no tweeters
The Hi Fi System small 6 channel amp connected normaly 8 speakers tweeters in front door sails or sills Logic 7 or Top Hi Fi also called Harmon Kardon 11 speakers amp to head connection is Fiber optic it also has an equalizer in the head unit. The base system was only issued in the US for 2010 and early 2011 models the cutoff date for production was sept 2011 I believe . If you have tweeters in the front doors you have Hi Fi If you have the base system a sub band aid won't fix it. And the Hi Fi system itself is pretty weak to. I think most of us just want a little more low end kick. To most, the L7 system sounds pretty good. It just lacks low frequency grunt. I'm glad it sounds good. I added an amp and sub to mine, and I am still trying to decide where I want to set my gain and crossover frequency.
