Current Finance Rates
Hey everyone, I'm in the process of trying to find a good loan rate (60 months, new car from dealer). I'd like a quick survey as to the rates everyone's finding so I can limit my inquiries to a few lenders. Thanks!

I used the Capital One blank check program. Their rate was 5.95 for 60 months. Dealer was offering 7.95. You can apply for the blank check online and they will send you a check in a few days. Very easy process. I'm not sure of the difference, but the dealer said they don't accept the "green" checks from Captial One. Mine was blue and they didn't have a problem with it.
Good luck! |

Click on the link below to search for credit union rates. The lowest I see that you could qualify for is, Alliant Credit Union. You can join if you are a member of LifeTime fitness (if you're not, join, then quit. Once you are a credit union member, you always are). Alliant's rate for 60-months is 5.24% if you have them take the payments directly out of our checking account.
If you're in the Navy, the Navy credit union is 5.00%. http://www.bankrate.com/brm/rate/cuc...duct=41&sort=2 |

I was going to pay cash but found an outrageous rate: 3.99% 60 months LOL...
Kaiser Federal Bank offers a 4.99% for 60 months. If you participate in direct deposit, they discount 0.5%. If you borrow < 80%, then they knock another 0.5% off! http://www.kaiserfederal.biz They are in California. Not sure if they will do out-of-state.

Or... at the very least, I can find a 5.5% or greater CD to put it in, and I still make out!

I went the Captital One route for 6.05. Easy online application and the check shows up in the mail a few days later.
I just looked and the check is blue and my dealer said he has no problems accepting the check. Don't know what this green check busiiness is about. |

FYI: I think you get better rates if you go with Capital One through Costco. Especially Exec. members of Costco who get an additional .10 off the approved loan rate. Also, if you apply through Costco's web site starting Jun 4, you get a $40 cash card. Hey, every little bit helps!

Capiotal One was 6.25 and BMW was 7.25 when I went for my loan. I went with the BMW at 1% higher cause I got them to throw in several of the options I was going after to use the BMW credit. The options were worth $1500.
After we set the deal I told them I was putting half down and would be paying off the loan after 18 months. Surprise .......... Saved me about $1200
