blackline light normal?
I'm not sure if this has been addressed before...sorry if it has..
Is it normal for there to be a slit of normal (not shielded by the red lens) light coming through from the blacklines when perceived from a top down angle? It's like the red portion didn't cover the entire area of where the light comes out for the tail lights and I could see a portion of the white light when looking down on it. I've never noticed this before with the stock tail lamps, and it's been like this since I've installed my blacklines. I've shrugged it off initially, since it was happening on both sides and I don't drive at night as frequently. But since it's been getting dark sooner in the day, I notice it daily now when I get out of the car and look to the back. Hopefully I could get a good pic of this after work, but with my photography skills (lack thereof), it probably won't come out.

Mine do the same. One member overcame this by putting red tinted bulbs in if I recall correctly...

So I guess it's just a problem with the blacklines.... although you would think that since they are factory made that something like this would be addressed... oh well

I noticed the exact the same thing after I put the new taillights on, but figured it's only visible from a certain angle. It doesn't effect the functionality, so no big deal.

actually i dont have blacklines and the section that has the clearn/white lens also shows the light coming through from a top angles, so when the made both top sections clear it has the same effect.

yea, it's normal. you can only see it at the angle where you're looking down on it.

Just got mine and it's normal. This is a hard thread to find and it's the only one addressing this.
here are some keywords for future searchers: blacklines white light show shines through angle viewed visible |

If you have access to a soldering iron, simply un solder the bulbs. If not, find a buddy that does and have them unsolder it. That's odd though, can't say I've ever seen that before.
