service engine light

So I brought my car on for a service engine light today. They told me that is was faulty spark plugs. The only thing I ever noticed was rough idle at red lights sometimes. you would think if it was the spark plugs it would of given me more noticeable signs. What do you guys think?

I had similar symptoms with my 330Ci and they had to replace one of the ignition/engine coils......
