2008 335i preorders?
Does anyone know when BMW will start taking preorders for the '08 335i's? Is it two months before (late June / early July) the expected show room arrival date of late September / early October or will it be later than that?
Any info is appreciated. Thanks |

Dealers will not recieve their allocation for 08 production until mid to late August. September production will start the 08 model year, meaning that the cars will start to arrive in late October/begininng of November. No dealer will recieve an allocation any earlier. There may be dealers that will take a deposit on the car, but they will not have a production number to modify to your specs until then.

I thought if they start production first week of September I could potentially place my order in the first week of July, no? Also I think from production to delivery in the states it takes about a month unless they are back ordered which it may take up to 2 months on average, correct? If that's correct I guesstimate I'd be looking at first week of October delivery best case or first week of November delivery worst case.
I wish my CA would call me back and keep me up to date on this! |

Be aware that BMW will be making very few slots available for October. Placing the request for pre reservation isn´t the same thing as ordering the car and BMW NA won´t begin to slot and confirm orders until they get the earlier slots sorted.

I hope all the October ED spots aren't used up. In a few weeks I'd like to place an order for an E93 for ED on either October 22nd or 29th. I'm pretty sure September is all booked up already.....and I'd like to avoid November because I'm afraid of it snowing while I'm over there!

Damn that sucks. I don't mind going on November 5th (first Monday in November), I'm just worried about the weather and snow in particular. Does anyone have any idea about what the weather is like in Germany in October and November? ![]() |

From what I researched, it starts to get cold around nov 1st. Cold as in 40 at night. Some passes maybe be closed up in the mounatins. The fartehr you drive south the warmer it will be. Try this weather website, its great for worldwide weather www.wunderground.com |

Haha, that was coincidental, I'm a blogger (or just a regular poster) on Weather underground, and I'm on that site multiple times a day, I'm a weather freak. And rather than take my chances and drive south through the Alps, I'd rather just drive northwest to Paris or Amsterdam, it won't be that bad....and besides, I'll be driving a new car! ![]() |

Well I can say a little, because I've looked up the temps from each day in the first week in November in 2006, 2005, 2004 & 2003 (I did that on Friday). Historically they say HIs should be in the mid to upper 50s, although the last bunch of years HIs were right around 54 to 55 across MOST ALL major cities north of the Alps. Lows were never to freezing and there wasn't any snow, and I checked more than a dozen cities, but only in France, Germany, Czech, Austria, Netherlands, and Beglium. Hope this helps, and the temperatures did seem to stay pretty steady, which I was pleased to find out. As long as I sleep in I shouldn't encounter anything too cold! Hope this helps. Btw, how come Lufthansa doesn't seem to offer any flights out of Amsterdam? I've checked in plenty of times, and I just wrote them an e-mail, I hope it's an error.

Weather
I took delivery of my 335I last October 18th, I was also worried about snow or ice with those summer tires, and I live in south florida so no way I am used to driving other than very hard rain. Anyway, all my fears thankfully went down the drain, the coldest we got was Munich the day of pick up at 40 degrees. The rest was from 47-74 !!, yes 74 degrees read in INNSBRUCK ! on October 26th. We were on t shirts in Zurich October 30th. But as everyone knows 2006 was a weird climatic year, hot temps in Europe broke records everywhere and in the Alps all the people were in panic because skiing season could not start and was supposed to start since mid Oct on high peaks, but no, I saw only two peaks with some snow in the Alps, that's it. But who knows how mother nature will play this year, but with our human help I think I'll be more hotter than normal, this year and the rest, if we do not listen to Mr. Al Gore theories
![]() We are going back this year for wife's X3. And yes, no deliveries in October, I am getting word now that THE WELT new ED center is delayed a couple weeks. So my SA does not even know if NOV 15 is a firm date for pick up. However if this time there's snow, I will be on a x3 with 4 wheel traction. Now is the opposite I WANT SNOW !!. ![]() Good luck to all. ![]() PD.. anyone knowing more about THE WELT opening date, please post. Thanks
