Scroll or Pan Function on Nav System?
I've searched both of these terms to no avail. Does anyone know if you can just pan around the map? If you can... HOW?!?
I've got a Garmin Nuvi 255W that I'm really considering putting up for trips when I actually need GPS. Either that, or just pull my phone up.... |

Not sure if it is different on the 2008 version, but on my 2009 version I can push the iDrive dial to the left and then turn it until I'm on the "Interactive Map" icon. Push down on that and you can use the iDrive dial to move around the map.

I think the iDrive term is what is used for the intergration of the vehicle's entertainment and navigation system, and the interface with them, but I'm not certain.

Hey, I tested it, and it works. The cursor moves super slow though! I found that you have to have the main screen on Nav... Can't just do it on the small screen.
Thanks for the feedback! |

Yep, go to the cross hairs looking icon ( + ) and you can pan.

If you want it to move faster, you can turn the wheel to zoom out. Just scroll faster to your approximate location, then zoom back in and adjust accordingly
