I saved these screws till last during removal and did them first when putting the bumper back on. Step 2 – First, locate the horns; there is one on each side behind the bumper plate directly under the headlights. If you have headlamp washers, the horns are located right next to them. Remove a nut holding each horn to a small extension welded to the bumper plate. Step 3 – The horns will fall free and you will have to remove them by pressing a small tab inwards. See pictures for location of tab. Then take a small flat head screwdriver and remove the cap off the horns’ electrical input. Wire the new horn to the old horns electrical cap using male bullet connectors; just insert the bullet connecter directly into the metal receptacles in the electrical cap. I had to use female wiring couplers to attach the other end to the Sickspeed horn. Once you have the electrical cap connected to the horn, connect the electrical cap in its original position in the original wiring harness. Step 4 – The Sickspeed horn came with a small extension but no bolts to mount to the stock location. It was also too large to fit in the small area between the brake ducts and the headlamp washers. If you don’t have headlamp washers, you should have more room. My only choice was to use zip ties to mount the horns in place. The passenger side horn needed 3 zip ties for a secure hold and the driver’s side only required two. I also found that the driver’s side had less room to mount the horn. Step 5 – Replace the front bumper. Should be pretty straight forward. Here is how the horn sounds with the bumper off Last edited by E90Brad; 09-24-2011 at 08:16 PM.. |
