Unhappy LPFP dead

Just had the low fuel pressure pump die on me...craaaaank craaaaaaaaaaank FAIL...

On a good note I've got the POWA tune figured out, was going to hit the strip tomorrow but I guess it'll now have to wait another week

Did you figure out it's the LPFP from running the codes? I thought the HPFP was the one prone to dying

Would have been nice if the fuel pump upgrade shiv has been working on was released, especially with those RB turbos.

Low pressure side, got the code..cobb ap was also a great tool to use here, not only did it tell me the code but I went into the "Monitor" part of it and looked at the LPFP actual vs requested pressure and noticed the pump was only holding 15psi fuel pressure during cranking and when it was off, and it should be 72psi which is also shown in the AP's requested LPFP monitor..so that was nice at least in this bmw fuel pump mess

Where did you get the information on that? Just curious as to all the hype if its just an inline fuel pump addition.

Just a hunch, nothing official

Ya, I'm actually looking into how I could squeeze it in the stock LPFP bracket...the Bosch 044 is meant as an inline (outside of tank) fuel pump but there are many high hp cars out there running them intank without issues...to me this is a preferred way of running it as well and its fuel pressure specs match exactly what the stock fuel pump needs to run pressure wise (72.5psi) only at a lot more volume than stock...

the bosch 044 is rated at 300lph while our stock fuel pump is amazing rated at just 90lph but it obviously flows quite a bit more than that

i'm pulling some of my ideas on how to get the 044 inline to intank conversion from here:

Not much in this thread to do with cobb per se...but ya, a proper flash tune with the functionality in the AP is money well spent for sure

it was a surprise that it went this early...I think it went prematurely as I had the boost-a-pump wired in ever since I plugged this new pump in a couple months ago...

in terms of track times i can't wait to run it

I had what I thought was a lpfp failure. Replaced it and still no pressure in the system. Turn out the little plastic elbow and fuel had separated in the driver's side of the tank (the sender unit/pressure control) So I was just circulating fuel in the tank!!! Weird.
