Not sure if this can be possible but it seems like the Clear Coat has the stain embedded? Don't think it can be the paint... but damn like I said I'm most likely wrong.

From those pics it sure likes faint enough to be under the clear, what exactly did they repiant and how long before you noticed? I would hope if something was on the paint they did not clear over it. If you know someone with a paint meter they can read a spot you know was not repainted and then that spot and if it reads significantly higher then they sprayed it. That really sucks sorry dude.

well the thing is the hood was not damaged, and the invoice they gave me(which includes all the work they did) doens't show anything related to the hood. i noticed it about 2 weeks after i got the car. i never bothered looking at the hood when i was at the shop because the hood was in good shape. what do you guys suggest i do? i have zero painting experiance/knowledge.

Seriously, take it to another body shop and ask them for a professional opinion. Future recommendations depend on determination of the issue.

^+1 Take to an independent body shop and just ask what they think the damage and cause is, looks like a stain but how and where in relation to clear makes no sense based on they did not do anything there. Do you park outside by any chance?
