First Tank and 367 miles+
I have had my new d a week and a half and have done a lot of driving. I finally need to fill it up!
Crazy. I kept thinking it was time, but it wasn't I averaged 26mpg. About 50/50 freeway/city. I also just got it and drove it in manual M1,M2 only. And had some fun. Ok. a lotta fun. Now I gotta find a diesel station that isn't $4.89 a gallon! WTF? Chevron Refineries are in the Bay Area. But its one of the most expensive gas gouging cities in America! Anyone recommend a Diesel App? I wish iDrive could filter diesel stations in the AutoFuel category. ![]()

I'm such a diesel noob. My first fill up.
The nozzle would not go all the way in my tank. It stuck about 8 inches out. I didn't think this was normal and persisted. But it just wouldn't go in. It also didn't have normal petrol nozzles with boots to seal the connection from fumes or spillage. (California). So it never made a seal either. It took forever too! It then stopped and overflowed all over the side of the car! Diesel smell? What diesel smell? Didn't smell at all. That was fun. I felt like a 16 year old filling up his first tank of gas.

Yeesh, you yanks are getting gouged on diesel. Up here in the great white north, for the longest time Diesel was a good 4-10 cents less than REGULAR. Now they're at parity. My first tank, 100% city bumper to bumper commute, gave me 560km (348 miles) with about 60km range left on the computer.
