Navigation unit is free now for new 2011 BMW 3-series order
So I've been researching the heck out of new 3-series pricing and used M3 pricing. The last few days I have been building my own vehicle on www.bmwusa.com. Building of the package is nice and all, however one thing I keep on noticing was the MSRP pricing of the packages changes. I saw the navigation drop down to $0 while the cold weather package was decreased as well. I thought it was just bad data that's stored.
This is what I tried to build out: 335i RWD Sedan, Metallic paint, cold weather, performance, m-sport, premium 2, comfort acesss keyless entry, navigation, and harman kardon. This is what I saw: - Navigation package reduced down from $2150 to $0 - Premium package 2 reduced down from $2650 to $2100 - Cold weather reduced down from $1150 to $1000 So I inquired about it at my local dealership and one in another state. Lo and behold, they both confirmed that the navigation unit pricing is in fact $0 MSRP, basically free. That decreased the premium and cold weather package pricing as well. That's an incredible deal! The car I spec'd out came out to about $52,500 MSRP. Invoice pricing came out to be around $48,631. With $1000 dealer cash and $1304 for the automatic credit option (dealer will allow me to us it even on a 6mt), that brings it down to $46,317 + tt. Now, trying to figure out this or a used M3, the pricing makes a loaded 335i such a tempting deal. Those who have been sitting on the fence, if you want to save a few grand on a loaded 3 series and don't care for the new 3's, this is the time to get in on it. |

It's probably just an error on the website and the dealers are freakin clueless.
Dealers know NOTHING man. Call BMW North America 1-800 number. I highly doubt what you are thinking is happening is in fact happening. Regarding free navigation anyway.

![]() In any case, I'm not an expert in auto contract, but when you sign the purchase contract for a car for X price and you place down a deposit, won't they have to honor that? |

even though it says $0 the msrp price at the bottom goes up. For instance metallic paint, premium, sport MSRP is $48,275. with navigation car is $49,875 even though it says $0 by navigation. Not free. However bluetooth and USB is now included with navigation whereas before it was either separate or part of the premium package.

Yeah, I called a 3rd dealer and they confirmed too. I called BMW NA and yet again I got referred to the dealer.
![]() Whatever the case, if I decide to get a new 335i instead of a used M3 and I sign for a value that essentially give nav as free and I put a deposit down, I better damn well get the car for the price I signed for. Quote:

I noticed this as well, but in my case I already ordered a car back in early August. I had saved the link for when I built it, and when I looked at it today the price was different. All the same options - ordered msrp: $47,550, today: $46,450.

Even though it shows up as $0 in the summary, $2100 still gets added to the total price.
No free nav.

No free nav...
Ever The price changes occur depending which packages you select as some overlap in features that they attempt not to charge you double for

You guys might be right and the dealer is pulling my chain just to get me into the door, or you guys might be wrong and there is a credit option like for the IX or the automatic transmission. In any case, I'm heading to the dealership this weekend to order the car. I'll see what happens and report back. |

when I go to the website and configure exactly what you did, navigation is listed as 2150
I agree that the premium package 2 drops in price to 2100. This occurs when you have the Navi & Premium Package 2 selected. Likely since they share some features (such as enhanced BT & USB). If you deselect Navi, the premium package 2 price goes back up to 2650. For the cold weather package being listed as 1000 instead of 1150, this occurs when you select the m-sport package. Not sure if there are any overlapping features at all, or if this is just a multi package discount scenario. If you select sport instead of m-sport, the cold weather package goes back up to 1150. unfortunately navi never showed up as free on the site. never read about the free nav for 5 series, but thats cool. seems like a pretty unlikely promotion to me, neat they did it once.
