You guys are right I made a mistake on my last post, it was meant for the other forum. I got confused.
Whether or not you want to buy the intake is up to you. Whether you think it's too much is up to you. That is your part in this play. Our part in this play is to observe that OEM CF splitters cost $600.00, and provide enthusiast with a product with the same quality for $247 shipped. To see an OEM spoiler that painted nears $400, to provide one just as good for $189 painted. To see that the only intake available for the 335 is $1800, to turn around and sell it for nearly half the price. In CF parts, labor is what is most expensive, EVERY piece has to be handlayed and takes time to make. Raw CF composite cloth is very expensive. Our price reflects our cost. We DO NOT take advantage of enthusiasts, this is what we are about, what our reputation dictates. We price fair because we too are enthusiasts. We understand each and everyone of you because we are each and everyone of you. To close off, if you have a 335, take it from us, DO NOT make your first MOD be this intake, it makes no sense. Procede is by far the first MOD, and the one you'll get more for your money. But once you get procede, and maybe an exhaust and are looking for more, then maybe you'll see that what we are trying to do here is provide the means for you guys to have such a product and not to "rip you off" as so many have stated. We have our own intakes, you can check the sound of the prototype for the 330 if you click below our emblem. The sound we got from our product is superb and better than ANYTHING you've heard (from an intake alone). The reason we decided to speed things up with the 335 intake is because the people that have seen the 330 intake videos that have a 335 have been PM us like crazy. They all want an intake and there is nothing available. As of right now we have time only to make a replica, it would take months for us to have enought time to do the R&D for the 335, this is the quickest solution for all of you. For us it's all the same because WE ARE ENTHUSIAST DRIVEN. I hope this kinda helps you to see things in a different light. Either way, thank you for your vivid interest in getting it or bashing it. |

Yes, I am still interested in seeing its development. Right off the bat I won't be dropping that much money on an intake, but in the back of my mind I know that a few months from now i'll be looking for one, and having another option is always a good thing.

That's not actually true (the bit about it making no difference).
A turbo generates relative boost, so it'll boost X psi above the pressure at the compressor inlet. When the turbo's pulling the intake air in through the inlet, the pressure at the inlet will actually be atmospheric pressure minus any pressure drop through the intake/air filter/filter box. I couldn't tell you if this intake is any better than the stock one, but the chances are that if the inlet into the 335's stock airbox is fairly small, then opening it up will reduce the pressure drop. An induction kit would be one way of doing that. You might not see significant gains in the peak figures, but I'll bet you it'll be better in the midrange and in the way it picks up (throttle response). |

I'd agree if this were a simple turbo system with a purely mechanical wastegate setup. From what I understand of the N54 setup, it takes into account a lot of things, but is independent of the amount of vacuum in the pre-turbo/post-filter intake pipes. From what I understand, the ECU will compensate by running the turbos harder if you are running at high-altitude (or your filter is clogged up)... and the ECU will compensate the other way if you are running without a filter or install a less-restrictive filter-box.
