What all can cause timing drops? (running PWM meth)

If you can get a smooth timing curve with stock-like (no tune) advance like that at 15 psi in high altitude than that's something to be happy about

Before/After Meth Dyno update
Well, it was a little warmer today then when I last looked at the timing curve, but had time to get to the dyno since the PWM install. Overall for my altitude the post meth numbers are good, but I was really expecting a touch more WHP improvement over just FBO. Other than upgraded turbos, there must be somthing I can do to improve my results on Meth.
I have a few ideas of some things to try, but hope to hear some more thoughts before I finalize next steps... Before Meth: HPF FMIC, Stock airbox, AA DPs, CPe catback, V5 UT 45% IC 85% 91oct + can crappy oct boost BTW, this is a 6kft corrected dyno (1.17 correction) After: Added PWM Meth and DCI, 7-29 maps UT 45% IC 0% 91oct + boost + 75/25 Meth BTW, this is a 6kft corrected dyno (1.156 correction) I look forward to any suggestions you might have. |

Update
I tried a full bottle of the NOS booster with a 1/2 tank of 91oct, timing got better for sure. A few days later I was able to make it to the local speed shop to get some unleaded sunoco 104oct to add to the mix.
Wow, timing curve never dipped below 10 deg and I can't ever recall seeing my tacometer move so quick above 5k RPM in 3rd gear. Now I'm wondering is it OK for me to run 0% IC with just 91oct + meth ? Will the 2-3 deg drops of timing before my METH really starts flowing harm anything? Will it be possible for me to get Meth flowing sooner and possibly minimize the drops at this same boost level? Clearly a few gallons of 104oct/tank solve the problem but it just isn't practical for DD use. |

The timing drops in you log above looks severe. Have you tried switching gas stations? |

yep, tried a few different stations. I think its consistenty bad here. Plus others with PWM have commented on timing drops on 91 until meth started flowing.

Getting Meth flowing sooner might help, but I'm not exactly sure of all thats involved to do that. Adding more Meth once its flowing isn't likely to help. I'm able to acheve 10 deg (or more) of timing advance at current boost levels now at redline. I'm just dipping to ~7deg or so early in a pull.
