Need Advice on Warranty

Hello,

My car just hit 70 000 miles, and I recently started hearing waste gate rattle. It's still faint, and has no effect on drive-ability or anything else...

I decided to ask for the cost of a warranty, I was offered a bmw 1 year/12000miles powertrain + warranty for 1750$ ( had I passed last week when the car still had <70k I could have gotten the 2 year/24k for 2100...).

What do you guys think? Should I buy this warranty and then take my car in in a couple of months?

Any input or past experiences would be appreciated,

If your looking at it just for the turbos that's a huge price. I would just take the bet they're not failing. Even if they do you can replace them for basically the same price. I wouldn't do it. I'd probably just trade mine in for a newer cpo in that case. IMO

I would think you;re assuming labor at an independent shop and not the dealership... cause they quoted 3k + just to fix the wastegate

Would it be possible to get a free diagnosis then decide on the warranty then?
