Bought the spark plug socket at Ecstuning.com $14.95. Fits perfect. Part number is ES#1306821. It's deep well 3/8 drive.

Is it as easy as it sounds to replace them shown here --> http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142679

BMW wanted $480 to replace them
WTF, this is what I paid to replace the clutch.

Sears inline sells them as well, just run a search of the forum and I know somebody has a link up...

Looks pretty similar to mine, except my first and last plugs were slightly more darker. I just changed mine last Friday because I was having misfire issues. Changing them out seems to have fixed it.

I tightened the new plugs to 23 nm but it seemed like I had to use twice the effort to break the old ones loose...

when i looked at ecs tuning website, they got this:
http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-335..._Tools/ES9340/
but it's 5/8 6pt socket. so do you actually need 14mm socket with 12 pt ?
the spark plugs looks like it might have 12 points.

The spark plugs are 12 points and ECS does sell a different socket that is different than the one you linked. It's the same one as the one Sears sells. I just picked up the socket last week from ECS. It worked great.
