Thanks, I would have to agree with that too.

The key to more air is to have denser air, not volume, since volume would be restricted by piping. And the only way to achieve denser air is by providing cold air, which the stock air box does extremely well.

I have seen this on DCIs as well..Over time it has to do with the heat deforming the filter construction IMO...NOT the turbos "sucking" the filter flat..

Here's a video of that old single intake in action. It was the first open element system released for the N54. I think early 2008? Those who say it doesn't work just don't understand physics but these days the dual cone intake is more popular by a ratio of around 100 to 1. The dual cone is cheaper too.
