all 6 injectors and hpfp fail 3 days after installing jb+

So after 3 days of having jb+ my injectors and hpfp fail out of nowhere everything was fine until I start my car and it goes straight into limp mode. Took it to dealer and they diagnosed that it needs a new hpfp and they need to replace all 6 injectors. Was it a coincidence that these failed 3 days after jb install?(btw im under warranty of everything is covered thank god haha)

If you already have a slight issue (sometimes not even showing a CEL) any tune will aggravate the problem and make it come to light.

I understand, but thats hard to believe considering it showed no signs of anything while being pushed even with chip then i go to start it out of nowhere limp mode.

Did you have the recall campaign performed on your car previous to installation of the JB?

If not, then your HPFP probably took a dump and they are replacing all of the injectors as part of the campaign.

Seriously doubt that all 6 would fail at once.

+1

Even if one injector fail the dealer will replace the batch because they get warranty $$$ from BMW corp. Most likely it was just the hpfp but the dealer replaced everything as per recall notice.

This is a known issue, otherwise BMW wouldn't have done a national recall. Do you think they'd replace these for free if they thought it was because of tunes?

Not to mention, if you are implying the JB+ is to blame, then you are trying to get BMW to warranty for something you did.

Thats absolutely wrong ...they pull all the injectors and only replace the ones that fall under the recall. I had mine done under the recall....4 of 6 needed replaced along with the hpfp.

No, you're wrong. In the TIS it says to replace injectors in sets of 3. if 1 injector fails in bank 1, then replace all 3 in that bank. If 1 injector fails in each bank, then they replace all 6.

They only replaced 4/6 of mine, and retrofitted the other 2. This was done voluntarily, mine didn't fail but it was under the recall.

The best way to reveal bad HPFP is to install a tune. HPFP failed because of it was bad and tune pushed it a bit more. Your injectors have not been working as they should have for longer period of time.

This is not true, the recall requires all injectors be removed and part numbers checked, if the part numbers falls in the recall batch, each one is individually scanned as there is a tiny little scan code on them and the technician replaces the injectors that come up as bad. SIB says replace up to 6 as required, nothing about 3 at a time.

Outside the recall, if an injector fails, they replace the bad injector as a single unit.

Exactly......injectors under the recall campaign are only replaced if the batch numbers on them fall within certain ranges.

I only had two replaced on a 2008 build.

OP has 2007, so injectors are older and all may have fallen within the eligible range.

Why are you guys even arguing about this?

Just read the SIB

Not that these injectors are the same, but e36/e46 injectors where replaced like water also - seems that wherever BMW buys injectors that they take the lowest bid - only had 1 injector fail in my life in a non bmw car!
