Can the 2007 idrive be updated?

I am just curious whether or not BMW are able to update the old existing software?

My 2007 335i idrive is rubbish... The navigation system is terrible.... Sometimes it allows me to enter post codes and other times it doesn't

Do you think I could convince them to do something about this under the BMW extended warranty?

Not a chance w/ the dealer. The best you can do w/ the software is get a newer Nav. DVD.

Better still, is to retrofit the latest Cic hard drive based system. It's much better

I would consider doing that.
Have many done it? Is it too difficult?

I would love to be able to view my iTunes music from my iPad... Is that possible?
