Other access thru firewall other than the ECU box?

Is there any other access thru the firewall other than by the ecu box that might be a little easier to get to? I want to install police radar and need to run two small wires but taking all the ecu apart for those two wires seems like a lot of pointless work so I was hoping there is an easier access?

Found it! Anyone know which wire is the best to access 12v power? Any of the light switch wires or would there be a better one?

instead of splicing or wiretapping you can use an "add-a-circuit" found an any automotive store. it'll just plug into, the radio fuse for example, it adds a fuse and will give you a pig tail you can put a terminal connection onto in order to tap power.
this is good for a few reasons; easily and fully reversible, fused, and easy to get to

SO I DID THE "AD A CIRCUIT" BUT THE RADAR DOES NOT TURN OFF AT ALL. IVE TRIED PLUGGING IT IN IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT FUSES AND IT NEVER TURNS OFF. ANYONE HAVE IDEAS HOW I CAN WIRE THIS INTO THE CAR AND IT TURNS ON/OFF WHEN I TURN THE IGNITION?

It should def turn off when the car goes to sleep after a few minutes, people typically have the opposite problem.

I would verify your tapping into the same circuit as the accessory power socket. That turns off when the key is out.

+1 that's what I used for my TVandNAV2Go unit.

You can also use the homelink slot....even better if you don't have homelink (you just need 1 fuse in this case).

Hmm That Has Not Been The Case For Me. Mine Def Doesn't Turn Off. Which Fuse Slot Should I Use? Ive Tried, The On/off Switch, Heated Seats, Windows, A/c, And None Of Them Worked... Is There Anyway I Can Just Hardwire It Into A Wire That Will Turn Off Once The Key Is In The Off Position?

And Yes I Did Custom Install The System. It Is Absolutely Awesome! I Got The Passport 9500ix Or Something Like That. It Has Laser Shifters And The Whole Deal.

Please tell us about your radar install. Where is the antenna? Where did you put the LED, display and control unit? Photos!

Yea, if you tap power from the cigg lighter either in your ashtray or under your center armrest.

But there's no reason why the fuse tap shouldn't be working. Are you sure your looking at the diagram correctly?

theres a power port somewhere upfront... i guarantee it...
check on the upper inside corner of the passenger footwell. look for a power port socket pointing down.
if its there, and the fuse box is still causing you headaches, then do it the ugly way...
drop the foot well cover (two torx screws), then put wire taps onto the power port + and -

I used a regular size fuse tap and it doesn't work.... Could that be the problem?

Also, what is the power port? What does it look like because I do not mind hardwiring it into something as long as it turns off when the key is off...
