Tire/wheel insurance choices for Cali?

So reading through the posts about this topic it seems dealers no longer offer tire/wheel insurance in cali (for one reason or another). TheAutoClub also doesn't quote insurance in Cali has anyone out there found another source for getting some sort of insurance on the RFT tires/wheels? they seem pretty expensive to replace in case of a flat, etc. Thanks.

I dont think you can get insurance on the stock RFT's since BMW doesn't offer it anymore. However, on your 2nd set of tires, most tire outlets offer warranties on their tires. If you get a flat/nail, they'll attempt to patch it up and if they cant then you get a new tire for free. I think you just pay like an extra $10-$15 per tire.

Its no longer offered in Cali because only Insurance companies are allowed to sell insurance in Cali by law. In the Bay Area shops like Wheel Works offer this protection when you buy tires from them. I had in the past and had no issues.

What he meant to say is that it wasnt BMW that offered it, a third party does. So basically whenever you make a claim it's through that company and not BMW.

You are correct- they (not BMW) used to sell it here and apparently still do outside of CA (east coast members ask about it all the time).
