Vorsteiner Trunk Boot Lid install

Hey guys,

I just purchased this.. but before I install this boot lid, is there anything I need to know besides the below?

Debadge the 335i emblem
Debadge the BMW Roundel (How should I remove this? Blow dryer? Or simply pry it off with credit card and flat head?)
Wash & dry it thoroughly.
Clean the inside of boot lid where the 3M tapes will be applied
Apply the 3M tape.

Then apply it on the trunk.

But how to do I line it up perfectly after applying the 3m double sided tape?

Is there anything else I need to know or to be careful about?

Roundel needs to be heated to soften the tape that holds it on in addition to the grommets and pegs. Then use a plastic pry with a credit card underneath to protect the paint and gently pry it off. Or you can purchased the suction puller and use that to pull it off after you've heated it.

If you're going to do this alone, you need to dry fit it and mark the corners and a line across the trunk as a guide. use Blue painters tape and make an outline of where it goes. Don't pull the red covering off all of the 3M tape at once. Start at one end and slowly lower it into place using the guide you made with the painter's tape. Remove a little of the 3M tape covering as you go and make sure it's lined up well before you get it all down. Once in place. tape it down firmly with Painters tape so it sets up strong and straight. I've done several spoilers on my E92 and it gets easier every time.

wait wahh, is this a trunk spoiler or the actual entire trunk. title is a bit misleading. my vorsteiner trunk was just painted and bolted on and left 1 shock on, put the trunk lining on, the locking mechanism needed a few spaces to line up and that was all. fitment was about 90% i would say.

Believe it's a Vorsteiner Lip, not the entire trunk lid. Like this no doubt.http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=415692

Yeah, I'll probably leave it off for the cleaner look. If it was an M3, it's a different story! Haha
