OK stupid question.. DS mode ?
I tried searching but couldn't find the exact answer I was looking for. 2011 328i Xdrive auto. My wife asked me if she could just keep it in DS mode all the time (yea she has a heavy foot). It feels a lot more responsive that way but will it kill the tranny ? Or bad in any other way for that matter ? Thanks for any input.

I have a '07 335i and i strictly drive in DS mode. Not only am i getting better mileage, but it feels (almost) like driving a MT. These cars were made for this, so don't worry about damaging the transmission....

I drive in DS mode regularly, but often find myself manually shifting for various reasons: shift into 6 on a highway with cruise control on, downshift to engine brake, etc. The only issue I've had with DS is: when I lift off the gas at slower speeds, sometimes the downshifts are sudden whereas in D this is not the case.
