They will eventually fail because lowering springs shortens the travel of the shocks which were made for stock height...No one can give you a timeframe, as it can last 10, 20 thousand miles or even fail after 5000 miles...Best to get shocks made for suspension thats lowered..

if you're going with race DEFINITELY get an aftemarket shock system - the OEM springs simply won't handle the iincreased pressure over time. it will improve your overall ride as well.
