Best Place to buy tires

Hey everyone,

My repaired rim came in the mail yesterday and I'm excited to get them on my car. I still need to buy some tires. I been calling different places and got diff quotes because not all shops carry the same type of tires. Any recommendation on the tire brand for all season driving? shops recommendation?

thanks

Most stores are pretty pricey, I would recommend tirerack.com if you can wait a few days. Michelin Pilot Sports, Continental DWS, Hankook Evo V12 is what I'd recommend for tires.

With mail order, I've had issues with getting tires that were out of round or had a radial pull. It's rare, but does happen. Now I get an online price, then get Discount Tire to match the price (or get close to it). That way if I have a bad tire I'm not stuck with shipping issues and I can make DT fix it on the spot. I went through 3 sets of tires one time to get a set that rode correctly.

For a long time I'd just mail order, and if I had minor vibration just live with it, but I've learned that this is often not balance, but tire issues.

Also, some DT stores have the Hunter GSP9700 balance machine, so you can get a balance job under load, which does a better job.

+1 for Discount Tire. I've received nothing but great service the two times I purchased tires.

Same here: Discount Tire will PM both Tire rack and their own discounttiredirect.com which has the big advantage of having free shipping. For 5-6 years now that's how I got multiple sets now.

If by "all season driving" you mean all season tires I'd recommend reading a little more about tires, as that is sure way to have your bimmer become a toyota... High perf summer tires + traction tires are the way to go, for better models see Tire rack reviews.

I JUST ordered the same tires yesterday... 235/35/19 (2) and 265/30/19 (2).
I printed out the tirerack prices and took it in with me, (DiscountTire will almost match the prices)

total after taxes and everything...

That is my exact set-up. What rims are you wrapping those tires with?

Just got the Conti's because I'm moving up to Washington soon and my ADVAN Neova AD08's probably wouldnt do too well in the snow...

Wouldn't true winter tires be the way to go though? Once the highs of 45 come next month, a set of Blizzaks would seem more valuable than all seasons. I wouldn't know though, haven't had winter tires yet.

In my opinion when it comes to snow and ice, most people don't know how to
drive in it anyway so everyone on the road will slow down. I lived in Germany
for three years and have been through 2 winters while I was there
#1 was in my e30 320i with all-season tires.. drove perfectly
#2 was in my current e90 and on stock wheels and tires.. drove perfectly

I mean, you shouldn't be peeling around corners anyways in the winter. So for
me all-seasons have worked without flaw through some REALLY BAD winters.
