Getting rid of glue/adhesive
Hey guys, just picked up my new CPO 09' 335XI this morning and it had that awful clear bra on it. I would have left it on but it looked yellow and just contrasted so much with the white of the paint. So i removed it but of course it left a nasty adhesive behind. I tried goo gone and that didn't work. Anyone else know what could work? Do body shops do this kind of work?
It's not a small spot either...we're talking from one side of the hood to the other and 6" up. |

Or Goo Gone.... Just make sure you wipe it off completely afterwards or it's gonna stain

Maybe a clay bar along with the adhesive remover?
A detail shop should be able to take care of it. Good luck!

Goo gone or adhesive remover will work, just takes time and towels. Kinda Have to let it soak then scrape off with towel.
That's nothing compared to removing urathane glue residue left from the person who installed my lip. I'm having to SAND it off. No solvent will touch it

Thanks guys!! I couldn't find any 3M so i gave Goo gone and WD40 a try for a second time. Like someone above mentioned, I first would blow dry the area for about a minute, goo gone and then rub like a mofo. My fingers are raw like hell. Up to now i've done the two outer edges of the hood. All i have left is the middle. At least i saved myself some money. I plan to clay bar it after a good wash then give it a nice polish.
