Visiting Boston/Newbury Port Area
Hello fellow Bimmerpost members!!!
I am heading to Boston for the first time on vacation. I am from southern-California. I will be staying with someone in Newbury Port. What would you guys recommend I do? Eat? I want to know the MUSTS of Boston. Anything BMW or automotive related would be a plus. If there are any meets or anything going on in the area between today and the 24th I would love to join. Obviously I won\'t have my bimmer but I would love to see how you guys do it on the East Coast! Thanks for any help guys! Best regards, Adam

I live about 45 minutes south of Boston, but do frequent the city, so I know some things to put on your list. My sister lived in Boston for the last 9 years, so that helped, too.
Definitely check out the following (warning, some of this stuff is "touristy"):
Hope this helps. Have a blast and enjoy your stay in the city. Be sure to post up your photos after visiting.

How could I forget about the Brewery?! Yes, definitely check it out. Just went for the first time, myself, about a month ago. Best part, it's FREE!

I'm 10 minutes from Newburyport. It's a nice town. There is a nice downtown area, but it's small. Quite a few good restaurants though.
If you want anything BMW-related, you might want to take a 15 minute ride to BavAuto in Portsmouth, NH. They have everything. Portsmouth is a nice place to spend the afternoon too.

here's what i posted awhile back for another forum member
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ht=boston+trip You can check out: Faneuil Hall (freedom trail) The North End (similar to little Italy in NYC with lots of Italian resturants) Boston Common (mini version of Central park) Charles Street (Beacon Hill neighborhood) The bar, Cheers is a couple blocks down the street Newburry St and Copley for shopping Fenway Park in Kenmore Sq You can go across the river to Cambridge to check out Harvard and MIT if that's your thing. You can also try the Duck Tours, it'll take you around Boston for about $30-$40/person. When you have a chance drive over to memorial drive and you can see the Charles river and Boston's skyline. As for places to eat, it all depends on your budget. Steak Houses try Ruth Chris it's walking distance from Faneuil Hall. Capital Grille it's on Newburry or Abe & Louie on boylston st The North End for Italian Chinatown (Jumbo Restaurant for dinner or China Pearl for Dim Sum) Burgers try Bartley's Burger near Harvard University. If the weather is nice try going for lunch at Top of the Hub at the Prudential, you'll get to see all of Boston. I wouldn't recommend going to dinner there but drinks/dessert there are alright too. Well hope you and your family enjoy your stay in Boston!
