BMW Perf Exhaust - Your Opinions?

Seems like the guys in the NY forums have the most meetups and have the most experience with different exhausts so I thought I'd post up here for your opinions.

I'm looking to make my car sound as exotic as possible and the PE seems to be the way to go BUT.... I find the PE a tad on the quiet side. So my options:

1) PE with downpipes - Heard it becomes totallllly raspy up top?
2) PE with second cat delete - Some people say second cats make barely 10% sound diff?
3) Vanguard with stick downpipes - I feel like it sounds like a deep V8 domestic vs. an exotic scream.

PROBLEM 2: I would be putting quads onto the PE and not sure how much it will kill the sound.

Any input from you guys would be appreciated.

changing the tips on PEs totally change the sound. if you want a nice deep throaty growl get Vanguard with DPs.

Not after a deep growl as much as I am after a high pitched scream.... (kinda like a ferrari).

Catless Vanguard unfortunately smells too much for me otherwise I would try it out.

PE has a nice scream to it... but the downpipes might cause rasp and changing the tips might ruin the whole sound. Wish the PE came with a catback option from factory and a quads option.

if u want a nice scream at high rpms, my eisenmann race fits the bill. 4000+ rpms i can make people deaf.

OEM PE sounds good, rip out the secondary cats and your chillin', you can always do catless DP and go with Dimisa tips or Cyba tips to complete the look

Downpipes make the PE very raspy, so I'm thinking of just gutting the secondaries instead.

I actually really like the Performance Exhaust with a set of catless down pipes... If I had a 335i, that's what I would put on my personal car, it sounds that good, at least to me.

Haha yeah, I'm serisouly considering just going down that route right now. Second cat delete seems to make it loud enough according to you!

The setups you heard didn't have that metallic rasp at high rpms?
