I tried the universal left-blinker-on-move-over-I'm-hauling-the-mail signal/gesture and most folks just persist to remind me of the draconian 50mph speed limit. I know they have good intentions and concerned with the health of my driver's license...

The problem with this decal, is that it applies everywhere you go.

People WILL take this the wrong way.

the only time i've ever pushed people out of my way (figuratively speaking) was when my wife went in to labor and i was driving her to the hospital.

otherwise, i've never felt the need to rush.
i can't quite relate.

oh well.

In situations where there is light traffic I'm usually able to force people out of the left lane by approaching at a high speed differential and scaring the shit out of them. 95% of the time they move. The times they don't get out of the way is when there is heavy traffic and you can't get up to that higher speed before another car is in the left lane, in this case it doesn't really matter though since one car moves over and another is 20 feet further up.

You're right. I'd hate to be driving behind a cop with that on my windshield. I think this philosophy is good, though. Maybe a sign you could hold up or something, because people have no idea how much better traffic could be if people would get the hell out of that lane except for passing.

My friend drives with a whiteboard in his car, I've seen him use it to great effect
