abnormal rotor wear
before i bought my e90 all four rotors and pads were replaced due to a bad shimmy whilst driving. now they work fine and run smooth but now the brakes squeal badly when stopping and i think im hearing them squeal during normal driving (think, because the wind is loud with the windows down and it doesnt do it at slow speeds?) i checked out all rotors today and they all look fine except the front drivers side near the top of the rotor there is an x pattern etched into it? any idea what this x pattern is from?
thanks in advance a closer look |

That pattern is cross hashing that helps bed the pats. It just hasn't worn away on that part of the rotor. Looks like you haven't been really using your brakes very hard.

You need to spray some brake quiet on the back plate of the brake pads that will eliminate squeal..they prolly didnt do that when they replaced the brakes.
