17x8.5 vs 18x8.5

all else equal except wheel diameter, what differences in ride, comfort, handling would be expected for 17x8.5 vs 18x8.5 square setups?

Thanks

I cannot personally comment on the ride difference, but one thing I would like to add is that there will be a greater variety of wheel styles to choose from in the 18x8.5 size. I don't know if that factors into your purchasing decision or not.
