121.25 MPH trap speed, can that be right?
Went to the the track last night and was running a consistent trap speed of 103 to 104 mph. On my last run I ran a trap speed of 121 mph. How is that possible? It appears everything else was pretty consistent from run to run. The only thing that I can think of is that I shifted at 6k rpm on that run instead of close to redline like I did on the others. Can that make that big of a difference? I am a beginner in all this drag racing and trying to understand this. I am car #167 on the slips.
Car: 2007 335i w/ Dinan stage 2 tune, Dinan exhaust and K&N drop in filter. Rear tires - 255/35 Hankook V12's. 1/4 of a tank of 96 octane mixed with about 1/8th of a tank of 91. Track: About sea level (infineon), 60 - 65 degrees. |

Based on the fact that your 1/8 mile traps are all about the same, I would say that 1/4 mile trap is impossible. Unless you have an extra 150hp suddenly kick in! I have said it again and again, tracks have variances..and this would have been a nice time to have had a Vbox in your car to verify numbers. Possibly the faster cars the can go from 100-130mph in the back half, might be able to sand bag till the 1/8 and accelerate from 83-121mph in the back half. Since you can accelerate more quickly at slower speeds.

Yeah, it's an error on the track's part. It's impossible to trap 121 with your mods and it would be very odd to run a 13.4@121 in an N54. This would mean you are spinning off the line like crazy and then the car gets massive top end which this engine just doesn't have. I have seen this in a big turbo supra though.
