call a dealer and see if they can get you the part. But it has to be their, so look in some random spots near where it fell

Park on a steep hill to get it to roll where you can see it? Or go fast then brake suddenly to try to launch it forward.

nice...

Or you can jack it up, and take off the entire panel underneath... it's a lot of trouble but it's the matter of having a 'pa diddle' or not

people have given you all of the information you need to find the cover. have you moved the car since you lost it? if so, its probably long gone fallen out.

if not, take the under-tray off again and look again

Take off the under-tray. No big deal except for the 15-20 bolts.

It's probably near/under the fog lights. Take wheel off, remove wheel well cover. The DIY has a section on how to do that. About 20-30 min work. No big deal.

Dude I dropped the torx screw in there when I was unscrewing my halogen angel eye bulbs. I just got a flash light and squeezed my hand in there to get it. Another time I dropped my cover of my high beam in there, to get that back I just turned my wheel outwards and then took off the cover in the wheel well just enough to get my hand in there to pull it out.

You can try that. There's only like 9 bolts you have to unscrew in order to get enough room to get into the bumper area from the wheel well.

I'm in the same boat. I'm trying to find the replacement. I went to BMW and asked and they had no clue....they think I would have to buy the whole assembly to get that exact cap. I figured he was retarded!

It isn't. OP is right, you can't purchase it separately.

I was able to get one by calling a bunch of places which came up after i searched for headlight housing (E90 LCI) on carpart.com and asking for the cap itself.

I actually have one extra cap, but it doesn't have the rubber seal. You should be able to improvise and find a gasket that'll fit if you need to, but I obviously recommend retracing my steps and finding another factory cap+gasket from a junkyard.

Good luck.

Is there anyway you wanna sell that extra cap. Im sure I can find a way to seal it by finding a gasket or something from Homedepot or Lowes. PM me if you can.

That's no good man. Especially with winter around the corner. Melting snow will get water into that opening.

I have an extra cap for pre-lci E90 housings if anyone needs one.
