P90 questions before purchase
Hey guys I\'m going to order the projector headlights tomorrow from jlevisw but have a few questions I can\'t find an answer for. The ae are lit up by individual led bulbs when I do the upgrade? I see tons of posts on the different bulbs but they seem to be like a socket unit that u plug in. With the bulbs attached to it. I likethis because that means u can simply unplug them and put different ones in Is it this way on the p90s or are the led for the angel eyes in the halo ring itself. Meaning u can\'t replace them?
Also I was looking to get these awhile ago and remember being prompted to buy the turn signal adapters which no longer appear on the site? Have they changed? Im excited to order as it\'s a Christmas present from someone but have to do the ordering myself an need a couple clarifications first Thanks |

I have the P90 setup from Jlevi. There are 4 bulbs in the angel eye. When seeing the picture from umnitza, I would suggest you should go with umnitza for a better AE look. I believe it will cost a little bit more from umnitza. Depending on the year of your car you will get errors from both Jlevi and umnitza. Jlevi give me an error cancelor stage 2 that seem to get rid of the error. For umnitza i believe you will need to code it out.

I do believe you can switch it out but I am not 100% sure. I believe it's such a pain to change those bulb out as you will need to take it out of your bumper. I have mine for about 1 year now and some of the bulbs is already when out. Even when it work it does not look as night as Unmitza one. I am thinking of taking this out and put in the Umitza.

no sorry I do not have any pic. I do not have the blue one I have the regular halogen color for the AE ring. Yeah it's been out a few months already
![]() If I knew imuntz have this I would have order it from them since the AE look amazing. I think in term of pricing it's all very much similar from $600-$800. If you go any cheaper you might not like the look or the quality might be an issue but that is just my opinion. |

Umnitza is 100% nicer than the depo p90's. If you can't get OEM, Umnitza is second best. Plus the p90's have been known to fog up because of a bad seal.
Another way to go is get Pre-LCI xenon's and send them to OSS to modify. All depends how much you want to spend. I would avoid p90's though. You will end up buying another set or putting your halogens back in. |

![]() FX-R Xenon > OEM Xenon Projector > DEPO Xenon Projector > DEPO Halogen Projector > OEM Halogen Reflector Also the LED AEs that Umnitza offers are Orion V2 and are the most indestructible and some of the brightest angel eyes on the planet. They should last the life of the car. I wouldn't trust the 4-LED DEPO P90s... (1) they look crappy, and (2) they're not well-renowned like Orion V2. |

Hey,
First post here just to tell you not to bother with the Jlevi Depos. I bought a similar pair from M Style in the UK and the AEs are pretty crap. I just ordered some Umnitza P90s at the weekend and hoping to have them in a couple of weeks. This is what the Depo P90 V1s look like fitted ... ![]() ![]() You can see where each of the LEDs is 'hot spotting' inside each ring. It looks really bad, day or night. I hope this helps you a little! |

![]() You can barely tell they're lit, and it looks really cheap and cheesy. Not to mention, the HID aiming is way off! haha Those headlights FTL! That car would look really good with the Umnitza FX-R P90s and Orion V2 ![]() |

Yeah, they are most definitely on the way! I ordered them with the Predator Orion V2s but need to keep them Halogen spec as my car would fail its road worthiness test with HIDs as I don't have auto-leveling or headlamp washers. The passenger side light's adjustment was a mile out for those photos.

It's every second year for the first couple of years and once a year once the car is ten years old. It's a pretty damn thorough test too so it's not worth the effort of trying to sneak it past as it will be noticed :-(

Great guys! Thanks a ton you guys have totally cleared this up for me. Thanks for the photos paddy that was definitely a deal breaker for me lol. I just ordered the while setup from umnitza.... Cost me about 900 shipped to Toronto tho... A little more than I wanted but between this thread and the retrofit thread it seems definitely worth it. I hope there's no errors or I'll be learning some coding very soon
Thanks again everyone Cheers |

If you have any coding questions, PM me. ![]() I have the FX-R Retrofit from Umnitza, and I had like every error possible, because I'm a 2006. I had flickering, low beam failure, low beam error, parking lamp error... basically every error you can get with headlights. I'm very familiar with NCSExpert and BMW Coding, cause I basically sat down 3 nights in a row and coded out all of my errors. Once you learn the coding the first time though, it's a real breeze from then on. I'm error-free now... thank God! ![]() I suggest buying a coding cable on the FS Threads here on this forum, because you'll be able to add some other features as well, and you'll be able to make sure you will never get errors from the headlights in the future. The Canbus ballast resistors tend to have trouble with cold weather, so coding may be your only error-free option. Bear in mind, Umnitza did all of its testing in California, not us cold-weather climates. By the way, I visited Toronto in August, and I loved it there. I stayed at the Thompson Hotel. ![]() |
