Radar/Laser vs dull/matte paint
From what I understand if a car has some sort of shine on it(normal)or is a brighter color or front plate its easier to tell their speed rather than if the car is satin/matte black and no plate and it absorbs the radar. Is there any truth to this?

Search for that Mythbusters episode where they test various ways to trick the cop's speed gun...

I have personally tested this and we found no difference between matte paint/vinyl or oem paints. Also, there was no difference we found between front plates or no front plates. Speeds were ranged between 25 to 65 mph.
Backround: Military police officer with access to different types of radar equipment, and plenty of friends with customized vehicles. Take it for what it's worth, but hope it helps.
