JB4 map 8 / NA mode

Hey guys,

Looks like BMS has something fun in the works for you. A naturally aspirated / non-turbo map. I'll post more details as I get them.

Quote:
Here is a log of tonight's testing. This is a 1-2-3 log. Took forever! You'll note its running the proper (full) advance for an N54 running zero boost, that the air/fuel ratio is spot on, and that the fuel trims are also properly managed. Which means this NA map can actually be driven on without screwing up all your adaptions.

Here are a couple 1/4 mile runs on map 8:

15.3 at 93.6 mph, 2.3 sec 60', 2nd gear launch
0-60: 7.0 sec, NATURALLY ASPIRATED MAP

Finally a video of tonight's testing. The car is catless but running the OEM exhaust system. Fully open wastegates make it a lot louder. It's embarrassing to make this much noise running high 14s.

Thats the best and worst part of N/A mode. It feels great being able to floor it and maintain full traction, make a lot of noise, and not speed sometimes

Hey if you need drama go watch a novella... Or get a girl in your life maybe? Either way... Valuable contribution to the thread and the online car enthusiast forum community as a whole. Idk where we'd be without impressive observations like yours.

As for people who like cars and the development of products... Imagine how great these forums would be without fanbois polluting threads regarding the development of products with your mindless diarrhea, who did what first, "hey but did you hear what he said back when? OMG look at what he's doing now!"

I have a dream... That one day, all car fans everywhere... Will be able to eliminate drama... And maintain focus on development, research, application, installation, results, pictures, graphs, product reviews, educated opinions, and basically anything else regarding why we true car enthusists FUCKING GET ON THESE FORUMS IN THE FIRST PLACE... TO DISCUSS AND ENJOY OUR CARS AND WHAT WE DO TO THEM AND NOT THIS GD DRAMA...

Sick of this fairy shit

He personally may not want to do it but when you have tons of your customers letting you know that they want it what would you do?

1) Please the customers to attract more business?

or

2) Tell them to "F" off?

If you say 2 then you fail. Pull your head out of your A$$.

Read the part about adaptations and you will quickly realize that the maps are NOT THE SAME.

Anyways please no drama.

Can't wait to try this map out to see how it sounds, won't miss the turbos too much in the snow anyway.

How is [advancement] of timing controlled/done? no drama, just curious.

I believe the timing control is all done by the ecu. It would make sense that the stock tune not running any boost would end up with timing in that range. I may be wrong here so I hope mike gives us an answer.
