Noise from my navigation disc (video attached).

I've searched this matter before and have seen many people complain about this problem. Some didn't bother to fix, some fixed through dealership, others gave up after countless tries through dealer. It makes a spinning noise as if you put a disc in a computer. Mentioned it to a Service Manager once, he said he's heard of it before and even just finished swapping a unit in an X3 for the problem just to continue.

This happens more when I'm still it seems. Of course as soon as I remove the disc it stops. Anyone have this issue? Click on image to play video.

Wait...You want to know why when you're within earshot of a drive actively reading a disc, you hear a spinning noise?

Obviously it's not normal if even a service manager agreed about seeing the issue before. I've been in friends cars with cd based nav and never heard this.

My car does the same thing. I dont know why the car needs to read the nav disk after the car is turned off. No free maintenanc for me here in Germany so it wont get "fixed."

I figured it was normal too, and still kind of do, just really need to make a checklist of all this stuff as I'm going in for service in 2 weeks and my maintenance warranty ends 2/12.
