is yours an M Sport or SE? and are your window trims chrome or glass black?

on M Sport models they come gloss black so i had my grills gloss black to match! together with black/grey carbon fibre badges looks sweet!

I'm a huge fan of black grilles. Matte finishes are super popular, personally I'm a Carbon Fiber fend so you can imaging my personal favorite is the CF grile.

I've painted mine about 3 times now and I'm just about fed up with painted OEM ones. I was using gloss black and sand and primered them and put on about 4 layers nice and thin.

I do a lot of highway traveling so chips are inevitable but they look pretty bad.

So if I purchase a set of grilles from a vendor on here, are they going to hold up much better than my painted gloss black grilles.

If so, PM ME VENDORS! I need to fix this stinking grille situation.

Thanks,

Not sure what I might have been doing wrong then. Oh well, just ordered a set from ECS. For $100, it's worth it.

if/when you black out the trim, decide whether it will be matt/gloss and get the grills to match! will look awesome!

I agree! My SGM 06 325i came with matte black window trim, so I just bought matte black kidney grills to match. It's always good to match the window trim, otherwise it will look weird. If my window trim was gloss black, I'd go with gloss kidney grills.

I like my current chrome kidney grills, looks classy... but it also looks too "old rich guy" if you know what I mean. It doesn't have the aggressive appeal which matte black will give it.
